Heinz Nigg, cultural anthropologist
Born 1949 in Zurich. Studied history, political science and cultural anthropology. Engagement with visual arts as painter and critic. Exchange student in Chicago 1967–1968. Field work in London 1976-1979.
Belongs to the pioneers of community video practise in the 1970s and 1980s. Today works as cultural anthropologist and freelance curator of exhibitions. Teaches media anthropology at Bern University.
His main focus is on migration/integration, urban development, community arts and innovation.
